About the company

FTP Embroidery started life as Frame That Photo (hence the FTP), and specialised in supplying framed prints to the pub industry several decades ago.

Over the years they morphed into a specialist sports, work and leisure wear supplier with the added service of branding and personalisation, using embroidery and vinyl printing.

FTP had spent little time on a digital presence. A DIY website was uploaded on their domain, but this wasn't maintained or updated with any regularity and had become out of date by virtue if being unsecure.

Although an ideal candidate for an e-commerce website, the process of collecting and approving artwork online, and the subsequent variations in price depending on the size, number and format of the personalisation, was always going to be hard work and not easy to make user friendly.

So, we settled on a standard website but we are aiming to make it search engine friendly by continuing to add pages dealing with specific products and services.

IWD was given no content by the owners so we had to research and create all the content from scratch.

Going forward, FTP have taken advantage of our Digital Marketing Support package so as time goes on, we will be further optimising the content for SEO and adding pages to rank for specific keywords and strings.

The house brand of FTP is a clothing manufacturer called Uneek. One of the big disappointments of the website is the Uneek brochure integration. The 'white label' website produced by Uneek is badly designed and provides a poor user experience. We have contacted Uneek numerous times about this but to no avail. We continue to show it on the website but it is not a great feature.

As part of the website build we had to modernise the logo and (re-)create a series of graphic images to sell certain products and packages (see 2 examples below with before & after images)
